Flotilla chartering refers to a bareboat charter where you sail in company with other yachts on an itinerary designated by the charter company. The charter company also supplies a lead boat with an experienced skipper to provide advice and assistance should you require it.
Flotilla Charters are an ideal way to explore a new area, or for those gaining experience before going it alone on a bareboat charter
Most Flotilla yachts range from 28 to 37 feet in length and are usually conventional single hulled yacht.
Like Bareboats, Flotilla yachts come equipped with everything needed to operate them; from kitchen utensils to towels, sheets and bedding. Some of the bigger, more luurious, bareboats have generators, air conditioning, microwave ovens and TVs, but most do not. Nor do they tend to have extra gadgets and "toys" such as kayaks, windsurfers (unless rented separately). These amenities tend to be only found on crewed yachts.
Flotilla charters come from across the spectrum of sailing enthusiats. From those who are having their first go at sailing holidays, to experienced sailors who just like the ambience and comeraderie of a flotilla environment. The presence of an experience lead crew and their patient coaching of new converts, makes a flotilla holiday the perfect way to relax.

It is important to remember that, just like any holiday, booking your hotel is not the end of the cost. Here are the usual additional items you will need to budget for:
Flights
Airport Transfer to your yacht
Food & Drink
Mooring Fees (if you visit a marina)
Additional End Cleaning (if you return the yacht in an unusually dirty condition)
Any additional watersports equipment
Spending Money
All the boats are insured with reputable insurance companies. However, all bareboat charters are subject to a refundable security deposit, both to ensure that you return the yacht and that you have enough money to pay the insurance excess. Should the worst happen, the cost of any repaires wil be deducted from the security deposit before it is returned; but this is the maximum amount you will be required to pay.
