This 10 - mile walk is being run by the Westbury Walkers. Starting at Bishopstrow House it will take you around the picturesque Bishopstrow and North Bavant.

Whilst enjoying this walk you will take in the views of Wiltshire, including the Mendip's, numerous Tumuli's, the Low Lands of Norton Bavant and the medieval village of Middleton.

This walk is designed for seasoned walkers and should only be attempted by those experienced.

Included in your Walking break you will receive a picnic of Sandwiches, Crisps, Fresh Fruit, Cake or Chocolate, Mineral Water and Tea or Coffee,

Upon your return to Bishopstrow House you can relax in the bar and take in the atmosphere of our country house hotel before enjoying a Three Course Gourmet dinner in the Mulberry restaurant.

In the morning, Full English breakfast is available in your room or in the Mulberry restaurant.

For a perfect family break why not combine a stay at Bishopstrow House with a visit to Longleat House and Safari Park situated just 5 miles away.

The Longleat Passport ticket included in this package gives you the opportunity to meet the real stars of BBC's 'Animal Park' and includes entrance to all attractions including the Safari Park, Longleat House, the Safari Boats and Pets Corner.

It allows you to visit all of the attractions once. Also included in our Longleat experience is an adults and a children's picnic, with choices such as rare roast beef with rocket and parmesan sandwiches for the adults and traditionally cured Wiltshire ham sandwiches with animal biscuits for the children.

£149.00 per adult per night inclusive of three course gourmet dinner, full English breakfast, Longleat Passport Ticket and a Longleat picnic.

This package is based on double occupancy and is available from Sundays to Thursdays (inclusive).

A £11.00 per person per night supplement applies to bookings on Fridays, Saturdays and Bank Holidays.

Children aged 4 - 12 yrs are charged at £ 50.00 per child per night inclusive of a three course children's healthy option dinner, full English breakfast, a Longleat Passport Ticket and an 'Animal' Picnic

A £5.00 per child per night supplement applies to bookings on Fridays and Saturdays. Children aged 3 are charged for their passport ticket at £15.00 per child and any food and beverages taken during their stay. There is no charge for their accommodation.

Each rate is inclusive of Value Added Tax at 17.5% and based on a minimum of two people sharing a Standard room. Why not upgrade to a Deluxe Room or Suite. Prices available upon request.

Rooms at Bishopstrow

Each of the 32 rooms has its own very distinct personality from the luxurious country house. There are 23 standard rooms, 4 Deluxe and 5 Suites. Family rooms also available.

The garden wing rooms are all delightfully spacious and airy and also enjoy direct access on to the grounds. If you really want to spread yourself about, try one of our large courtyard suites. The Shaftesbury Suite, for example, has a downstairs sitting room that has a light, summery quality and a spacious bedroom and bathroom with luxurious double whirlpool bath. The Dorchester Suite is equally impressive, but has a completely different character, with deep terracotta red walls. There's even a luxurious double whirlpool bathroom in The Weymouth Suite. The spacious Longleat Suite in the courtyard has its own sitting room and private courtyard garden. Noted for its understated elegance, it benefits from the same attention to quality and detail as can be found in the other bedrooms at Bishopstrow.

All the rooms at Bishopstrow House are beautifully furnished and decorated, with designer wallpaper and fabrics, antique furniture and fine paintings. All have satellite TV and top quality audio entertainment systems. Flowers, fresh fruit and home-made biscuits add the final welcoming touches.

Bishopstrow House is the ideal location for a family break. Mum's and Dad's can enjoy the wonderful surroundings, fabulous spa treatments and fine cuisine and the little ones can enjoy high tea's, a dip in the pool, a trip to nearby Longleat House and Safari Park and will even receive a complimentary 'box of gifts' to take away with them, including a fantastic selection of toys, books and even some seeds to plant when they return home.

Children, Pets and Booking Conditions

They charge £35.00 per child over 4 years of age sharing with parents. This rate is inclusive of breakfast and accommodation. Every child over 4 years of age will also receive a complimentary 'box of delights' to keep them busy during their stay with us, containing books and toys such as a hand shadow book, tiger soft toy, flipping top, swimming toy for the bath, toy animals, rainbow pencils, notebook and seeds to take home and plant.

Please note: Gifts above are examples only and may vary. Only children over 4 will be given a toy box. We are happy to organise baby sitting, and a baby listening service is also available.

Children's High Tea is served from 4.00pm until 7.00pm.

Booking Conditions

We respectfully remind guests that a reservation constitutes a contract. A deposit of £100 per room is payable upon confirmation of a booking. Any reservation cancelled within 7 days of arrival is liable to be charged for unless the accommodation is subsequently re-let. We regret there can be no allowance or reduction for curtailment of your stay. We advise insurance cover to be taken out at time of booking. All rates include vat. Rates are subject to change without notification.
