pianos ukRecently the first commercial production pianos with carbon fibre sound board and hydraulically operated pedals have been added to the Phoenix range. The sound of these instruments is amazing. Powerful yet cultured. The 5 foot six inch baby grand has been played a distinguished performance of massive works such as the big Rachmaninoff Preludes in public recital. The artist has the sensation of playing a concert grand with ample bass sound. Carbon fibre is highly resistant to humidity which is the "Achilles heel" of all pianos. The concept uses a very thin but unloaded soundboard not therefore subject to collapse over time and with full freedom to respond to the input vibrations from the strings.

A special feature of Steingraeber-Phoenix pianos is the interface between the artist and the instrument . The pianos are reported by almost all who play them as easier to control and play.
