Ultra-luxury Silversea Cruises offer 12 varied golf programme itineraries aboard Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper throughout 2008. Golfers can perfect their swing on 35 of the most challenging and scenically beautiful courses in 16 countries and island destinations throughout the Med, Caribbean, South Pacific, and Mexico. In port, the Silver Links voyages offer golfing excursions escorted by the ship’s golf pro. They range from the breathtaking scenery of New Zealand’s Kauri Cliffs Golf Club to the narrow fairways and mountain terrain of the elegant Monte Carlo GC, or the rolling hills and saltwater canals of Mexico’s Club de Golf Marina Ixtapa in Zihuatanejo. Golfers can also polish their skills on board ship with sophisticated split-screen swing analysis using the most advanced digital coaching system, featuring the same software selected by PGA.com as their preferred instruction technology. On each of these golf-rich voyages, guests have the opportunity to advance their game aboard ship with the help of a certified PGA-classed golf professional, who is available for personal instruction, group clinics, demonstrations and even putting contests. Silver Shadow departs July 19 on a seven -day Med cruise from Rome to Monte Carlo with optional golf excursions to Golf Park Mallorca (Palma), Catalunya Golf Club (Barcelona), Servannes GC (Sete) and Sainte Maxime GC (St Tropez). Prices start at £3,070 per person. Later in the year, Silver Shadow sails on September 17 on an 11-day Mexican Riviera voyage from Los Angeles to Costa Rica with golf excursions to Cabo del Sol Desert Course (Cabo San Lucas), El Tigre GC (Puerta Vallarta), Club de Golf Marina Ixtapa (Zihuatenejo) and Tres Vidas GC (Acapulco), with fares from £2,282pp. Fancy heading off for some Christmas golf Down Under? Silver Shadow sails December 20 on a 15-day voyage from Sydney to Auckland with golf at courses such as the Royal Melbourne and Tauranga GC, New Zealand. Cruise fares start at £5,126pp. For details, see http://www.silversea.com Fancy tailoring your own trip with a group of golfing pals? Small Ship Cruises offer charters, so you can put together your own group for a golf cruise or combine golf with team-building and a corporate meeting at sea. They offer many destinations, including Scotland, Austria, Eastern Canada and the Caribbean. For details, see http://www.smallshipcruises.com/ |
