In front of a sellout audience including the leading retail and wholesale players, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose all took home gongs, with Musgrave Budgens Londis, wholesaler Brakes and independent chain Tates also among the retail winners. On the supply side, it was a great evening for Coca Cola Enterprises, picking up the Star Product Award as well as the Best Branded Supplier Award, with Arla winning the Best Own-Label Supplier Award. The highly contested awards, sponsored by GS1, Headcount, Disney and Deloitte, recognise the best of the best in grocery retail for financial performance, customer service, innovation, competitive pricing and product offerings. Many of the awards are based on exclusive research for The Grocer, while others are judged by industry experts who define gold standard excellence across the entire industry.
