Owned and run by Iain Macdonald and Gayle Hartley their specialist online delicatessen has quickly become one of the leading online sources of Spain’s famous gourmet Serrano and Iberico hams.

Upon entering Orce Serrano Hams’ online delicatessen you find a mouth watering selection of Andalucia’s finest cured hams, all locally produced from small artisan suppliers. Iain explains: “All of our Serrano hams are unique to us; you won’t find any brand name manufacturers or indeed, any of these hams in the UK. Our vision is to retail only the finest most authentic produce which can only be found in a small corner of Andalucia.”

As well as their comprehensive range of Serrano hams the business is proud to work with one of the only recognised producers of the fabled “Iberico ham”. Carrying the Denominacion de Origen. Iberian hams account for only 7% of ham production in Spain, are cured for 36 months and are regulated by Spanish authorities making them the ultimate gourmet ham boasting a sublime taste and texture unlike anything else.

Chosen for the customer. One unique aspect of Iain and Gayle’s business is that all their hams are chosen individually for the customer. Iain speaks of the process: “At no time do the hams ever hang anywhere else other than Spain; each ham is selected by us along with the expert eye of the “Maestro Secadero” who tests each ham for maturity. The hams are then packed by us and dispatched with our International courier who deliver the hams in prime condition.

Serrano and Iberico hams however are only half the story… Orce Serrano Hams carry an array of other Spanish meats including seven different types of chorizo. Gayle explains: “The range of Spanish sausages is quite complex, we have chosen both popular lines such as the chorizo but also lesser known sausages which are still hand made and cured here in Orce village.”

Morcilla – a black pudding unlike any other, again packed with herbs and spices as well as other gourmet delicassies such as “Mojama” (cured tuna loin).

If that isn’t enough to tempt you Iain and Gayle have also added some of Spain’s finest wines to the website as well as olive oil from the region of Jaen (regarded as one of the finest production regions of olive oil) a range of “torrefacto” coffees, brandies, everything for the paella enthusiast and local artisan cheeses.
