Jean Louis Scherrer Haute Couture

In 1962 Jean-Louis Scherrer created his Haute Couture house located at the 182, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. At this point he focused on jackets and drapped cocktail dresses in animal, floral and spotted prints.

After nearly a decade Scherrer moved to 51, avenue Montaigne and launched a ready-to-wear line. The ready-to-wear line was introduced to the Japenese market and met with immediate success. Still hugely popular in Japan there now remains not less than 13 shops in that country. The Scherrer House launched its first fragrance, "Jean Louis Scherrer" in 1979. Indeed the House of Jean-Louis Scherrer has managed to launch a new fragrance every decade since then.

In 1991 Jean-Louis Scherrer opened a Boutique on La Croisette in Cannes . The year after saw the start of a fur line is which again met with considerable success as the Houses accessories lines also continued to expand. The year 1997 saw the Haute Couture collections, ready-to-wear and accessories entrusted to Stephanie Rolland.
He focused on modernising certain elements of the House of Jean-Louis Scherrer to give a more contemporary identity. A mark of Rollands success by the end of 2001, the Haute Couture was multiplied by six with 70% of the clients aged under 30.

The end of that decade saw the launch of ready-to wear line for men.

In 2000 the House of Jean-louis Scherrer opened its first boutique in China in the city of Beijing

The France Luxury Group founded in 2002 by Francois Barthes included Scherrer as the key brand. Later that year Alain Dumenil and Stephanie Kellan became major shareholders in the France Luxury Group
