The world we live in is a patchwork quilt of global, homogenised brands that refuse to cater for the nuance of the individual.
It is comforting to know that there are still some buying propositions where quality, service and individuality are the hallmarks of an offering.
Bespoke suits provide the level of attention to detail that can only be associated with expert craftsmanship.
A bespoke suit will require some commitment on your behalf but the final cut and finish of the suit will be exemplary and worth the wait.
Cost
A bespoke suit does not come cheap, nor should it. It is a true craft, highly skilled and uses the finest fabrics. Prices are a reflection of this.
The price range for a handmade suit ranges generally between £1,500 and £4,500, with a bespoke suit from a top designer costing in excess of £15,000.
Fittings
The actual process of acquiring a bespoke suit is simpler than many assume. A Tailor needs to see the client at least twice for fitting.
The initial fitting session involves virtually every inch of the clients body being measured. Following this initial fitting you can expect to have to meet the Tailor six to eight weeks later for any adjustments that are necessary. Again depending on the approach of the Tailor and on the specifics of your demands, further fittings may be necessary.
Custom Suits
Custom suits are based on the specifics of the customer combined with the Tailors skills at cutting and sewing. These are one off pieces, made from scratch that truly reflect the personality of the client and of course are executed with the best material and Tailoring acumen.
Made-to-measure
Made-to-measure suits are based on an already existing pattern that is adapted to match the idiosyncrasies of a clients body shape and posture. The process is not as intensive as that adopted for custom suits and again the finish and cut of the suit will be magnificent. A made-to-measure suit usually weighs in at about half the cost of a custom suit.

Good quotes about tailers etc
If you are out to describe the truth, leave elegance to the Tailor.
Albert Einsten - Physicist, 1879 - 1955
The only man who behaved sensibly was my Tailor; he took my measurement anew every time he saw me, while all the rest went on with their old measurements and expected them to fit me.
George Bernard Shaw - Dramatist, 1856 - 1950
Men's fashions all start as sports clothes and progress to the great occasions of state. The tail coat, which started out as a hunting coat, is just finishing such a journey. The track suit is just beginning one.
Angus McGill- Author, Still alive
The evolution of the capitalist style of life could be easily - and perhaps most tellingly - described in terms of the genesis of the modern Lounge Suit.
Joseph A. Schumpeter - Economist, 1880 -1950
I don't see how an article of clothing can be indecent. A person, yes.
Robert A. Heinlein - Writer, 1907 - 1988
Clothes and manners do not make the man; but when he is made, they greatly improve his appearance.
Arthur Ashe - Athlete, 1943 -1993
A designer is only as good as the star who wears her clothes.
Edith Head -Designer, 1907 - 1981
Sex is a bad thing because it rumples the clothes.
Jacqueline Kennedy - First Lady 1929 - 1994
A newspaper reported that I spent $30,000 a year buying Paris clothes and that women hate me for it. I couldn't spend that much unless I wore sable underwear.
Jacqueline Kennedy - First Lady 1929 - 1994
I don't design clothes, I design dreams.
Ralph Lauren - Designer -1939-
I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans: the most spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity - all I hope for in my clothes.
Yves Saint Laurent - Designer ,1936
Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.
Mark Twain -Author- 1835- 1910
There is much to support the view that it is clothes that wear us, and not we, them; we may make them take the mould of arm or breast, but they mould our hearts, our brains, our tongues to their liking.
Virginia Woolf - AUTHOR- 1882- 1841
