It has been launched by French cosmetics house Guerlain, lipstick innovators since the 1920s, and is adorned with 110grams of solid 18-carat yellow gold and 199 diamonds, rubies and emeralds. The lipstick case is a replica of the original top-selling KissKiss lipstick created in 2005 by Olivier Echaudemaison, the famous French make-up artist who began his career by travelling with the Duchess of Windsor when he was 17, and perpetually chic designer Herve Van Der Straeten. The world's most expensive face cream, The Essence, costs £1,500 - which is about the same price as a course of Botox injections - and lasts just three weeks. But the makers, Creme de la Mer, the company that launched a moisturiser for £115 a pot , says it is a "21-day spa for the face," getting ride of wrinkles and making pores smaller. Ingredients include seaweed and daffodil bulbs. Caviar is becoming an increasingly popular anti-wrinkle treatment among celebrities, and is the main ingredient of La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Deluxe, a big seller at £370 a pot. The skincare choice of Gwyneth Paltrow, it also contains deep sea proteins for moisture, horsetail to boost collagen, and mulberry root to even out skin discolourations. If you want the best in hair care, take a tip from actress Jennifer Aniston - and use Alterna White Truffle shampoo and conditioner. It costs around £70 but the makers claim its European truffle oil, the planet's richest source of B vitamins, makes it the most effective natural shampoo.. American plastic surgeon Dr Gregory Bays Brown originally created the skin plumping cream Revive Intensite Volumizing Serum for his mother. Now it sells at £370 for 30ml. The formula is said to replace skin cells eight times faster than normal skin. When it comes to perfume, the most expensive on the planet is reckoned to be Clive Christian's No.1 - at £355 a 50ml bottle. Last year, a special limited edition bottle in an 18ct-gold collar, with a 5-carat brilliant-cut diamond, sold for £115,000. |
