Dries Van Noten was born in Antwerp in 1958, into a three-generations-old family of Tailors.

He studied at the Antwerp Academy.

His first presentation was a mens collection in London in 1986 under the aegis of the Antwerp Six.

Both the press and buyers were impressed and by 1989 he had opened a boutique in Antwerp.

In 1991 Dries van Noten held his first ready-to-wear collection in Paris.

Two years later, in 1993, he opened showrooms in Paris and Milan.

A new era began for Dries Van Noten, when in 1991, he staged a Paris runway show of his men's ready-to-wear collection Van Noten.

The company has continued to expand with stores in Tokyo and Hong Kong.
