Born in New York in 1963, Marc Jacobs has enjoyed a meteoric rise including being design director for Louis Vuitton. He is the head designer for his own label Marc Jacobs, as well as the diffusion line Marc by Marc Jacobs
He graduated in 1981 from the High School of Art and Design in New York City. Jacobs then stiuied at Parsons School for Design. During his time there he won the Perry Ellis Gold Thimble Award in 1984 and in the same year was also awarded the Chester Weinberg Gold Thimble Award and the Design Student of the Year Award. |
