The Global Sprint Challenge is a race series conducted by Racing Victoria Limited, Ascot Racecourse Limited, Japan Racing Association and the Hong Kong Jockey Club. A truly global racing calendar that racegoers the world over can expect to see the best the turf has to offer played out on a truly international landscape.

For the first time, the Global Sprint Challenge Champion will be eligible to win a US $1 million bonus for its connections, provided the champion has competed in GSC races in all four countries. To win the Championship bonus the horse must also win a minimum of three of the GSC Group 1 races in three different countries.

CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZE OF A LIFETIME

The owners of the Global Sprint Challenge Champion will also collect a racing enthusiast’s global trip of a lifetime with ample time to admire the Championship Trophy.The dream holiday for two includes airfares, accommodation and hospitality at each of the peak racing events staged by the participating GSC organisations.

The winning owner will enjoy some of the world’s greatest racing including the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot, the Emirates Melbourne Cup at Flemington, the Japan Cup in Tokyo and the Audemars Piguet QEII Cup in Hong Kong.

The Champion Sprinter Trophy will be awarded to the horse that accumulates 42 points or above in a single season, and participates in Challenge races in at least three countries.

When three thoroughbred racing bodies – Racing Victoria Limited, Ascot Racecourse Limited and the Japan Racing Association - joined forces to inaugurate the Global Sprint Challenge last year, Hong Kong trainer David Oughton was quick to take up the challenge.
