Expoships LLLP announces the launch of the first exposition 228-foot, three-deck mega yacht, christened Grand Luxe, made its world debut at the Delamar Hotel in Greenwich Harbor September 25, 2007.
Grand Luxe is the fourth-largest private yacht in America, and will have on board SeaFair, the first-of-its-kind venue for an international fine art exposition. The first two days of the visit will be filled with gala benefits for The Bruce Museum. On the 27th, the yacht will be open to collectors, designers and decorators who are invited by SeaFair to view the exhibitions of twenty-six renown international art, antique, and jewelry dealers. 
The yacht will be in Greenwich until Sept. 30, then head to Long Island, NY’s North Shore and New York City, then back to Long Island Sound and Norwalk, where it will be docked at Veteran’s Park October 17-21, according to Lester, who says a similar benefit will be held for a local charity there. The roster of exhibiting dealers reads with names of dealers who regularly exhibit in venues such as the Palm Beach International Art and Antique Fair, the London Grosvenor House Art and Antiques Fair, and the international fine art and antiques fair at Maastricht in The Netherlands. The Grand Luxe, designed by the internationally-acclaimed designer Luis de Basto, is an entirely new type of shallow draft ship, specifically designed as a mobile exhibition venue. The 3,200 ton ship, with an air draft of 57 feet, requires a draft of only 6.5 feet, allowing navigation of the entire Intracoastal Waterway. In addition to 26 individual galleries, SeaFair also offers two gourmet restaurants, a champagne and caviar sky lounge, and an international coffee bar. 
On its 44-week tour, SeaFair will visit over 36 affluent coastal communities along the Eastern seaboard from Florida to Maine. SeaFair will additionally host an ongoing series of educational lectures, concerts, and private functions at each five-day venue.
