Carved of wood and then covered in gesso and painted, this bust of Tutankhamun portrays the young king. Although wearing a royal crown with a cobra deity projecting at his brow, he has on a simple linen shirt through which the upper part of his rib cage shows.

The European Art Grand Tour

Following the opening of Venice Biennale and Art Basel, the first two stops on the “Grand Tour 2007”, this week sees the opening of documenta 12 and skulptur projekte münster 07.

They are held in the European destinations of Venice, Basel, Kassel and Münster. Through the Grandtour website it is possible to make a personalized travel plan to the sites of the four major art events in the summer.
